JAPANESE PAPER

“Washi” (Japanese paper) is made of grass. It is very strong, beautiful and has a soft touch.

“Washi” itself is already a beautiful art, therefore it gives a delicate Japanese atmosphere to my calligraphy.

There is no backing on Japanese paper, so some wrinkles may appear due the ink absorption. Gluing the paper to a harder paper will flatten all wrinkles.

Sorry for the poor quality of the picture, but it is quite difficult (for me at least) to take a nice picture of such an item.

SCROLL BACKGROUND COLOR

The scroll background paper is made of flowered silk paper.

2 colors are available:

DARK GREEN

Actual shade is darker

IVORY (near white)

The color is even on an actual scroll. The grey is due to the difficulty to scan white silk.
